I have a few devices and wanted to make sure that I was not too far away from trading when and where I want.
At home I have a 27″ iMac with two 21″ display monitors. It’s an older model iMac so while it’s great for display it’s not as good for speed during trading. I use this setup for studying, great audio, multiple screens so I can watch live videos, charts and use my browsers all at the same time.
Of course we all have cell phones and I use Meta Trader 4 on my cell phone. I am not fully setup with my brokerage accounts so it will take me some time before I am trading real money with real accounts (as of 7/13/2017).
I have an iPad 4 which I installed MetaTrader 4 as well so that when I receive trades I can watch the trades on one device and enter the trades on the other.
Until I find the right “one” or combination of software I’ll go through what I need to before I can settle on the software of choice but in the mean time, here is what I’ve downloaded and use.
MetaTrader 5 downloaded to my iMac. – Because this is Windows software and it does not install on iMac by itself you’ll have to install PlayOnMac software or xQuartz in order to run the software.
There is also a web app (web terminal) from FXChoice that was great but I have not used it yet (as of 7/13/2017), looks great for charting while I’m trading from my phone.
MetaTrader 4 on my cell phone is my introduction and it was quite an easy way to get setup with a demo account.
MetaTrader 5 on my iPad again easy to install and I just had to figure out how to add my demo accounts while waiting for my live accounts.
Telegram the messaging app used to join the IML group that invited me to join the program and where IML the company and other members of my group chat daily about trading.
